NotesThis is a 125A Version of the 110A 13639. Both Units Fit the Nissan Maxima, and the 13612 Also Fits the Infiniti I30. Early Versions of the 13612 Used a Third Terminal in the Plug ("C" Terminal), But This Was Superseded to a Later 13612 Unit That Dropped This Terminal. The Units Interchange. Nissan Has Recalled the 1997 (2/97 Thru 2/98) Maxima and Infiniti I30 (Recall #02V171000 - ITB99-034) With One or Both of the Alternators Used (See 13639) Because "One of the Diodes Used in the Alternator May Have Been Damaged When Built. This Can Eventually Result in Failure of the Diode and an Electrical Short Which Could Melt the Plastic Housing". The Recall Notice Goes on to Say That a Fire Could Result "If the Combustible Gas Emitted By the Melting Plastic Does Not Disperse (Properly)". It is Not Known Whether the 13612 is Involved, or if it is Just the 13639. Also, it is Critical That the Stators and Rear Housings on the 13612 and 13639 are NOT Mixed Up, as the Stator on the 13612 is Wider Tha the 13639, and There is a Different Bushing on the Rear Bottom Mounting Hole to Compensate, so the Distance Between the Inside of the Front and Inside of the Bushing (Which is Basically the Length of the Mounting Spool in the Vehicle) is 79mm. If the Stator and Rear Housings are Mixed Up at All, Then the Spacing May Vary, and There Could Be a Problem With Housings Breaking When the Units are Installed.
