NotesThis is a 95A Mando Alternator for the 1999-On Hyundai Sonata and 2001-03 KIA Optima With the 2.4L Engine. This Unit Has a 4-Groove Pulley, and the Plug Configuration is "FR-L-S-G". This Unit Uses the Later Mando Design With the Black Rear Cover, and the Regulator and Rectifier on the Outside of the Rear Frame. The Battery Stud is at 2:00 on the Rear, While the Plug is at 4:00. Hyundai and Kia Dealers Have Replaced the 13783 With the 11014 in Problem Vehicles. Kia TSB #KT2005022515 States "Some 2001-2003MY Optima 4 Cylinder Models Built Before 5/2/03 May Experience Battery Discharge When Operated in High Ambient Temperatures for Extended Periods of Time at Low Speeds or at Idle With A/C, Headlamps and Other Accessories On. Typically This Results in Customers Reporting an Inability to Restart Vehicle. To Reduce Incidence of Battery Discharge Complaints, the Following Changes Were Made: For 2001-2003 Optima 4 Cylinder Complaint Vehicles Produced Before 5/2/03, the Revised Parts and ECM Logic Software Have Been Made Available for Use as a Field Fix." The Original Alternator Shown in the TSB is 37300-38310 (13783) and the Replacement is 37300-38400R (11014).
