NotesThis is a Mando Starter for the 1999-2001 Hyundai Sonata w/2.5L Engine and w/MT. This is Very Similar in Appearance to the 17764 Used on the Same Car w/AT. The Difference is the Depth of the Nose Cone - the Cars w/AT Use a Starter With a Shorter Nose Cone (as with the Differences Between the 17217 and 16939). Early Models (Before 5/99) Used a Shorter Extension on the Starter Through Bolt, But Later Models Used a Longer Stud With a Spacer Which Allows For the Heat Shield Added at This Time. Hyundai TSB #99-36-015 Does Not Mention a Replacement Part for the Through Bolt, But to Simply Re-Use the Bolt From the Core, if it is Not Present on the Replacement Unit.
