| Notes | There are Two Regulators Used in the LR630 (Water Cooled) Cadillac Alternators. The Two Regulators - the 19009733 Being the Earlier Model Used in OE #10480338 and #10480344 (Lester 8236), and the 19009751 Being the Later Model Used in OE #10480280 and #10480340 (Lester 8294 as of 4/2006), are NOT Interchangeable. Regulator #19009733 (8236): Designed to Be Used in a Remote Sense System With a Thermistor Located Between B+ Battery and the Alternator. This regulator Does Not Have a Temperature Compensation Circuit. Regulator #19009751 (8294): Designed to Be Used in Later Models Without Remote Sensing. Even Though the Batteries are Still Located in the Passenger Compartment the Higher Set Point (15.1V) Takes Care of the Voltage Drop for the Long Positive Cable. This Regulator Has a Modified Temperature Compensation Circuit. The #19009751 (8294) Can Not Be Used in the Earlier Application (#19009731 - 8236) Because of the Thermister Being in Line and Affecting the Line Voltage to the Sense Terminal. It is Not Known How Sophisticated the PCM is, and Whether It's Internal Map Could Detect a Lower Than Normal Voltage Reading. (Thanks to Dave Kaplan @ Transpo for Much of This Content) |
