NotesA Memo From Carrier Transicold to Dealers. #PTS06-012 Dated 3-10-06, Describes a Problem With This Unit When Mounted in Trailer Units. Because the Unit is Mounted Upside Down, and With the Brushes Currently at the 12:00 Position, Moisture Can Get Down Inside and Cause Corrosion and Other Charging Issues. To Solve the Problem, Carrier Has Released Their Part #30-00409-65, Which Simply Rotates the the Back Housing 180 Degrees, Putting the Brushes at the 6:00 Position, But Because the Unit is Mounted Upside Down, the Brushes Actually Move to the Top of the Installation. Other Applications Using This Alternator Remained Unchanged, But to Avoid Confusion, Carrier Re-Numbered the Existing 12:00 Position to Their #30-00409-64. Some aftermarket companies sell with no fan, or with bi-directional fan. Uses 6303 DE Bearing. For CCW applications
